Affirmation the act or an instance of affirming, state of being affirmed, declaration of the truth of dictionary com . The weekly affirmation spoken will be short, but it will be food for your thoughts, heart, mind, and soul. Today's affirmation comes from a beautiful sister named Kimberly Williams Crenshaw, an American civil rights advocate and a leading scholar of critical race theory. She is a professor at the UCLA School of Law and Columbia Law School, where she specializes in race and gender issues. So, ms Crenshaw affirmation is titled it's Not About, and she says, it's not about supplication, it's about power. It's not about asking, it's about demanding. It's not about convincing those who are currently in power, it's about changing the very face of power itself. And today this is where we are as black women. It is not about asking, it is about demanding power. It is about this being our time to rise into authority, to take our rightful places and be all that we were created and called to be.
