Melanin Unicorn Returns

Kerry Season 2

Send us a text

Guess what? The Melanin Unicorn is galloping back into your podcast feed! After what feels like forever, Season 2 drops Monday, and the excitement is palpable. This return journey hasn't been easy, but it's been worth every step to reconnect with you—especially those amazing listeners tuning in from across the globe.

Between recording sessions for the new season, I made a hilarious self-discovery: I have a slight lisp! Who knew? It's barely noticeable until I hear the playbacks, and honestly, I find it pretty amusing. It's these little revelations that remind us we're constantly evolving, constantly learning about ourselves.

What you can expect from Season 2 is exactly what the Melanin Unicorn has always delivered: authentic conversations about life—the serious parts, the challenging moments, the victories and defeats. No fluff, no foolishness—just real talk about the human experience in all its complexity. I'm also thrilled to announce a brand new segment featuring book readings by Black women authors, spanning both romance and non-romance genres. This addition feels like the perfect complement to our existing conversations.

Looking ahead, I'm keeping things fluid. Season 2 is definitely happening, but after that? We might just keep rolling without formal season breaks. As I like to say, "We're going to ride it until the wheels fall off." Whatever form it takes, I promise the content will remain meaningful, engaging, and true to the spirit of the Melanin Unicorn. Subscribe now, tell your friends, and join me Monday as we embark on this next chapter together!

Speaker 1:

Hey, hey, hey, tribe. Good news, good news and good news. Season 2 of the Melanin Unicorn Podcast is dropping on Monday. I am super excited. It's been a long, arduous road getting back to this place. I have not forgotten any of my listeners who have tuned in and especially those who have tuned in from outside of the United States. I'm very, very happy. I am looking to welcome you back. I'm looking to welcome new listeners. I'm super excited.

Speaker 1:

One of the things that I've discovered is that I have a lisp. I did not know that. It's not a big lisp, but it's a lisp where I can hear it when I am doing a playback of an episode that has been recorded. Now I think it's hysterical, but you learn something new about yourselves every single day. Also, I am a talker, right, but not a talker of fluff and foolishness. No, I am a talker of life, of the seriousness of life, the highs and the lows, the great and the not so great, and I'm saying all of this to say that we are going to have a good time in season two.

Speaker 1:

Now, depending on how the Lord leads, I don't know if there's going to be a season three. Now, what do you mean by that girl. What do you mean by that, carrie? No, I'm meaning. What I'm meaning is this it just may continue and then there's no more seasons, meaning that there won't be a named season. We will just continue going on with this thing. We're going to ride it until the wheels fall off. Also, I also want to introduce that we're going to do some book readings on this podcast by Black women authors. So we're going to do some romance reads and non-romance reads, but, either way, we are going to have a great, great time. I look forward to seeing you back here. Love you, bye. Forward to seeing you back here. Love you bye.
